Braces at 26

Week -21

Since I put the braces on Tuesday last week, till Thursday the second week, I felt a sudden relief in this morning when I woke up. Probably I flossed for 30 minutes last night. And I can bite much easier so I enjoyed a huge breakfast with my collage:D

Week -23 – Where and brace pain encountered bad habits.

A bracket became loss after my first meal with the braces on.   I got tired in the first day. It makes me suspect if this is a chronicle fatigue symptom causing by metal allergy.. The second and the third day after the procedure, the pain started to really kick in. The skin inside of my mouth are cut. And I still wouldn’t able to control my snacking habits. After a half-night pull over I was working and snacking nuts in front of my computer. The second day I woke up with rashes all overall on my face. And my cheek is swollen like a piggy face.
Week -24

I have finally put the braces on. The whole process took about 2 hours including the documentation and check in. The office I decided to go to doesn’t include the Impression(a teeth model) as part of the package. But I asked for it. So the doctor asked his assistant to give me one after she take some photos of my original teeth.

I think the documentation the office can do it for the patient adds a lot of value to the overal experience. There’s no doubt that people will get the desired outcome at the end. But documenting since the first day is important. It’s going to help you remember the moment. And appreciate the process more. You know you won’t be the same after all.

Week -25

After visiting two orthodontists. Surprisely they gave me different quotes on how they will excute the plan. One said 6 month including both braces period and retainer. The other said 12-18 month. That’s a big timeframe differences. However, I decided to go with the 6 month plan. Because my original teeth aren’t bad at all. I just want them to be perfect. And most importantly, I want to take it as an opportunity to correct my bad snacking habits:) I expect the braces will force me choose what kind of food I should or shoutnt put into my mouth.
